Alright for what it is

Great bag, I don't think fruit co-ferments are my thing though.

ACTUALLY TASTES LIKE IT SMELLS!!

This coffee is also one of my favourites now from Genetics Coffee and the smell is so nice and juice like, I could never taste juicy notes or notes actually written, but this coffee's acidity hits you differently omg, it's so good when you brew it, it tastes actually delicious, and you can brew it both with milk and black both are equally amazing in their own.

Loved the coffee!

This was amongst the first coffees I tried, and the first light roast and I gotta say, I fell in love with it. Fruity and slightly astringent tastes seem to fill my morning cravings right up :))

Wat-a-coffee!!

Delicious to the core, absolutely love the colour & the flavours. Even though I would call myself a beginner when it comes to coffee expertise, but this is easily one of the best I've ever had!

Not upto expectations

Coffee was slightly over roasted and that kind of hid the notes that were supposed to be there .

Wat-o-Melon Carbonic Maceration

We at Genetics Coffee are Ecstatic to Re-introduce the crowd favourite lot of Watermelon fermented coffee from the renowned Ratnagiri Estate (Pearl Mountain).

How it started?
(When we approached Mr. Ashok Patre with the idea of watermelon fermented coffee, he was more than happy to experiment. And boy did he not only oblige our request he took it up a notch he added the watermelon to the coffee cherries and did a carbonic maceration.)

Now into our second season with this unique Lot !

For this lot, dark red coffee cherries with average brix of 25.6 were selectively hand picked, the cherries was triple sorted to remove any under ripe or overripe fruit and floats were removed. The cherries were placed in stainless steel tanks, cut watermelon fruit was added to the tank. Then all of the oxygen was purged out of the tanks and replaced with CO2 (Carbon-Dioxide), here the coffee cherries underwent carbonic maceration for 72 hours. After undergoing carbonic maceration coffee was removed and laid on african raised beds under the shade for 26 days, during this time coffee was turned around and raked constantly every few hours for even drying.

Aromatics are Sweet and intense with bursts of fruit nuances. There’s Berries, Black Honey, and Tropical Fruits. Reminisce of "Paradise"

In the Cup, Coffee is Crisply Sweet & Fruit toned like a crispy Rosé Champagne. Reminds us of Dark Bing Cherry, Dried Blueberry, Black currant with Pineapple in the Nose like a bouquet of flavours. The Pineapple & the Black currant flavour consolidates on the palate till the finish.
